The Oxfordshire Drama Network

An evening of four one act plays from four very different homes which we have called ‘Behind Closed Doors.’ There is something for everyone in these very different, but all funny in their own way, plays which explore the goings on in four very different homes.

We do suggest an age limit of 14+ due to some strong language and adult themes.

Meet the well-loved characters of Toad, Mole, Ratty and Badger in this adaptation by John Morley who has woven their exploits into an exciting adventure story for all the family. Follow Toad’s addiction to caravanning and cars, his imprisonment and escape with the aid of Jenny and her washerwoman aunts, and his fight with the Weasels and Stoats to regain Toad Hall!

This timeless, classic story involving five actors performing fifteen roles is warm, witty and fast-paced. Derek Webb’s adaptation remains faithful to the original novel: A warning of the dangers of modern science and technology, which in the wrong hands is sadly still relevant today!
