 "Night School"  by Harold Pinter - "The Time of Year"  by Graham Sellors - "Happy Birthday Me"   by Simon Williams.       The Collin Dexter award for outstanding dramatic moments was awarded to EuroAct for the variety of dramatic pieces in their play "Chatroom".

The adjudicator was Paul Fowler.  Time-table for the week is below:-

There was a short adjudication & workshop after each performance (except Sat).

"Cut it Out"  by Trevor Suthers.                   Didcot Phoenix

Claire has been a self-harmer since the death of her twin sister. Why does she feel guilty, and why does her mother feel guilty too? Why can't they connect over this common bond? A gritty, emotional character piece.

"When a Man Knows"  by Alan Richardson.   Kingston Bagpuize

A businessman is held captive by an unknown woman. Who is she? Why has he been kidnapped? What does she want? The shocking truth is revealed in a powerful and challenging two-hander.

"Chatroom"  by Enda Walsh.                            EuroAct (Youth)
Set in a series of internet chat rooms, a group of adolescents show off, flirt and play power games, all at a safe distance; though it seems the distance may not be safe enough for the vulnerable!

"Last Tango in Little Dudcote"  by David Tristram.    Didcot Phoenix
About an amateur drama group who are ... rubbish! No one comes to their plays, so Gordon comes up with a plan, he's written a play using sex to get audiences in. Watch the hilarious rehearsals & sniping in between! Is this really the last Tango in Little Didcote?

"Nearly a Silver Wedding"  by Diana Moore.      Old Gaol
Katherine of Aragon is fighting a battle to keep hold of her man.

"Happy Birthday Me"   by Simon Williams.            HAODS
It's Margot's 70th birthday party in a retirement home. She wants no fuss "just a bottle ofgood claret & a couple of winners at Sandown". Things turn out very differently!

"Kill Jill"   by Mark Wheeler.         Kingston Bagpuize (Youth)
Big Brother meets Kill Bill meets Jack (of Beanstalk fame) meets Tony Martin. . . Mix these together to create Kill Jill. exploring the hot topical issues of homeowners defending themselves, and asks how far can Reality TV be allowed to go?

"Death of Cuchulain" by W B Yeats.           Henley Players

Cuchulain is driven to fight the belligerent Amazon queen Maeve by his lover Eithne. Too late Eithne realizes that she has been manipulated by Maeve, and that she should have warned Cuchulain against attacking too quickly......
