Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Abingdon Operatic Society

Eccentric confectioner Willy Wonka decides to open the gates to his world-famous, albeit mysterious, chocolate factory… but only to a lucky few! Having successfully found one of five golden tickets, Charlie Bucket and four other lucky children get the chance to enter through the fabled gates and embark on a journey of pure imagination!
With chocolate fountains, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a show not to be missed!
Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, the musical features an original score by Marc Shaiman, with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. It also pays homage to the 1971 film score written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, with songs including “Candy Man”, “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket” and “Pure Imagination”.
